AI Slop At Work
Article, 5 min

A “study” claiming that 40% of employees receive AI-generated “workslop” is making rounds on social media. The term describes polished-looking AI output that creates more work for recipients. However, critics point out this isn’t actually a study—it’s based on an open, unscreened online quiz, essentially “as solid as a Twitter poll.” The research comes from BetterUp, a company selling AI productivity tools.
While the methodology is questionable, the underlying problem feels real, we’ve all received AI-generated content that’s unnecessarily complex, overly lengthy, or requires significant cleanup.
The Vibe Coding Era
Blog, 2 min
Traditional software development required specialized teams and substantial resources. Now, AI coding tools let non-technical founders prototype working applications in hours for the price of a streaming subscription. This has created an explosion of “vibe coding” rapid development that bypasses traditional workflows entirely.
“The glee of solving problems with $20-per-month AI tools represents more than convenience; it signals a fundamental restructuring of how software gets built and who gets to build it.”

AI Changing the Design Workflow

MCP (Model Context Protocol) is an open-source standard created by Anthropic that lets AI assistants connect directly to external data and applications. Instead of copying and pasting content between tools, you can have your AI assistant pull data from one app, work with it, and push results back—all without opening the original application.
Initially, MCP was very nerdy, with most benefits and examples targeted at developers. Now it’s expanding to broader use cases as mainstream platforms adopt it.
Zapier now supports MCP, enabling connections to thousands of apps. A simple example: rather than copying a document from Notion into your AI chat, you could connect Notion’s MCP server, have your assistant retrieve the content, work with it, and save results back to Notion directly.

Prompt to App for Designers
Vibedesign

Figma Make can turn prompts, screenshots, or existing frames into multi-screen prototypes with clickable flows. It applies design systems automatically and even generates front-end code for quick previews. The results often look polished enough for early testing, but the exported code tends to be too bulky for real projects. In practice, it works best as an AI partner for sketching ideas and mapping directions before the detailed design phase.
Agent That Does Things
Productivity
Manus positions itself as a “consumer-facing general agent”; it delivers websites, reports, slide decks, and more. Operating on a remote server, it browses the web and handles complex workflows step by step, which initially feels like magic. Now at general availability, anyone can try it out. The best way to explore its capabilities is by browsing the use cases and reviewing the results that people have achieved.

Different Levels of Vibecoding
The promise of a “dream app in minutes” is everywhere, but the reality is more complex. What starts as a quick, AI-powered prototype needs substantial development to transform into a viable product. I’ve learned when to panic and when to push through. In this post I share a process how to approach a vibecoding project.
Google Gemini in Practice
Google promises Gemini will transform workflow, but the reality is more nuanced. While it offers a rich feature set for individual users, key limitations like the inability to share chats with teammates hold it back from becoming a true collaboration hub.
Meetup: Vibecoding Vienna
We’re launching the meetup in Vienna, focused on how AI enables prototyping, building, and testing apps and websites without code. The event is beginner-friendly yet grounded in real-world experience, taking place on October 23.
