User behaviors are shifting, and Google’s facing serious competition – startups are straight-up betting on Google’s downfall, banking on a future where AI assistants take over. They’re building tools to get brands mentioned more often in AI chat assistants, recognizing that this will matter way more than ranking on a SERP.

AI Changing the Design Workflow
If you need to create transcripts of recorded video or audio, you can use Google Gemini for it. Instead of a specialty tool, you can turn to the AI assistant, drag and drop a file, and prompt.
Here’s how you can try it out:
- Go to gemini.google.com
- Upload a video or audio file and prompt “Create a text transcript of the attached video/audio”
- In a follow-up prompt, ask for a summary, turn it into a blog post, create an infographic, etc.
This is an example where your AI assistant is taking over another task you would have used a specialty tool for in the past.

It feels like a new vibecoding app pops up every week, right? Base44 is the latest one I tested. Its core functionality is similar to other AI app builders out there. A feature I liked is the ability to choose from existing design systems for your app. You can publish and share apps instantly. (Screenshot)
Now, a quick thought on vibecoding tools in general: they need to dial back the “build an app in minutes” messaging. While you can get something visually appealing and clickable fast, it’s rarely an innovative app. We’re talking more about recreating established concepts, using existing UX elements, or known app layouts.
