If your livelihood depends on constantly pushing out content not to lose rankings, audiences, or subscriptions, going off for a couple of weeks isn’t an easy decision. But creativity often comes from taking breaks. This Substack author compares creators making a living by publishing on such platforms to nothing different than gig workers—it’s a constant hustle with no safety net.

AI Changing the Design Workflow

How do content and design interact? AI is blurring the lines for creators and making it easy to visualize written content early on in a project.

I was working on a new page outlining our AI services for our website, then I turned to Subframe to turn the first draft into a web page.

A process that has taken hours pre-AI, is now done in minutes.

recorded a complete video that shows the process. But here are the steps to follow:

  1. Take some content you have written for the web
  2. Create a free account with Subframe
  3. Select one of the suggested design systems to start with
  4. Create a prompt outlining how you imagine the web page, including some of your written content.
  5. Select one of the selected designs and improve further by prompting about specific improvements you would like to make
  6. Publish the result for feedback, hand it over to a designer, or move the design over to an AI coding tool like Replit.
