State of Content Marketing

LinkedIn, 5min

There is a lot of talk about how the classic way of doing content marketing no longer works. In a crowded market, ranking on Google searches gets harder; AI is changing user behaviors, which is just one of many factors. These are 2 LinkedIn posts summarizing the current state of affairs:

AI’s Content Appetite vs. Creator Rights
Article, 30min

“When someone reads a book, watches a video, or attends a live training, the copyright holder gets paid. Why should derivative content generated with the assistance of AI be any different?”AI companies need large amounts of data, and they harvest all they can without considering copyright issues. This long read by Tim O’Reilly outlines the problems in the current relationship between tech companies and creators and suggests a potential framework for compensating creators in the future.

Firefox’s Cool Built-in Screenshot Feature

Firefox has one cool feature I miss in all other browsers: built-in screenshot capabilities. In Firefox, you can right-click and select “Take Screenshot.” Afterward, you can just focus on a specific website element you’d like to capture. Here’s a short screen recording showing this feature in action.

Tools & Apps

AI Video Editing
Productivity

Creators often face the task of customizing content for social media. Now, there’s a site that helps turn longer videos into short clips using a feature called “AI Shorts.” I gave it a try myself – I uploaded a YouTube video and got back two video segments. These clips came with hardcoded subtitles, ready to publish on social media or to edit further if needed. (Screenshot)

AI-assisted Wireframe Creation
Design

Wireframing is a crucial step in the digital design process. Recently, this traditional task has been reimagined with the introduction of AI assistants in wireframe tools. Instead of creating everything from scratch by dragging and dropping components, you can now use natural language to write a brief and then fine-tune specific elements. Scene is one such tool you can use to try this new approach. It allows you to describe your wireframe concept, generates an initial layout, and then lets you adjust the details as needed.

No Ideas Left Behind

Generative AI is a game-changing technology that helps you realize your ideas. Long-time readers of this newsletter know that I am very much into that topic. For the first time I share the complete process of how to use generative AI for prototyping in a blog post that also includes a 30minute video demo. In it, I explain how to take an idea to clickable prototype by just typing prompts.

This is a high-value content piece available on our site. It forms the basis for a course I am launching later this year.
