There is no audience for a free Photoshop clone.

Casual graphic designers creating simple things like sliders or flyers for social media have long since moved to Figma, Canva, or a gazillion other tools.

In addition, many just prompt the graphic they need with AI.

People who need installed free software have been using GIMP and other alternatives for years. Canva bought Affinity and made it free a while ago.

So both the “I hate Adobe and it is expensive” audience, and the “I do not use 99% of the Adobe platform features anyway” audience had lots of alternatives already.

And the reviews of the free AI-created Photoshop are in: many features present in the menus simply do not work.

Professional graphic artists and designers will stick to Adobe, or they are working in completely new ways.

I am impressed that you can create complex apps like Photoshop via AI (or at least a prototype of it) today. But the world has moved on. The way we use software has changed completely, and it will keep changing.
