I have them all: Claude drafting emails, AI agents pinging me on Telegram if something needs attention, Grok Bot checking LinkedIn three times a day and sending a brief, Linear agents on daily and weekly jobs telling me what’s going on in the project workspace. And that’s only what’s running on a schedule, not counting the workflows I can trigger on command.
In short, it’s a lot. This setup increases my bandwidth. I press more into every workday. And then again, it also leads to the real threat of burning out or losing focus. AI gives the feeling you can run 17 things in parallel. The reality is that switching context and focus day after day depletes your energy reserve.
To fix this, I remember a rule: for every new AI workflow, agent, or app I create, 2 others must go. That’s not so hard to decide. Which of these are toys, what’s actually driving me toward my goals, and what’s mostly just infrastructure I now have to maintain.
It’s really exciting how AI lets you take on yet another project that previously required 20 hours and now just 20 minutes. But it also leads to starting lots of things on top of what you were already working on.
